I replaced my grills a couple weeks ago. The e84 bmw x1 is a compact luxury crossover suv and was produced from 2009 to 2015. Once both grilles are removed you'll see this. Only question is whether to wrap it, paint it, or wait for the inevitable after market blacked out grills?
